Welcome to Katherine's website! Katherine's research interests include the application of
statistical methodology to biologically-relevant topics in statistical genetics and bioinformatics. This includes developing methods that improve predictive modeling in the biomedical sciences with a particular focus on better understanding cardiovascular health. Within statistical genetics, Katherine's interests also focus on the development of statistical methodology to study
quantitative trait variation in a human genetics setting through phylogenetic analysis. More recently, Katherine has been developing statistical methods to identify interaction effects in big data, with particular interest in biomedical applications, including cardiovascular diseases and multiple sclerosis, among others. She also thoroughly
enjoys
teaching both
courses and workshops, and is always looking for new ways to connect students to statistics.
