Dr. Arne Bathke is Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Statistics and Director of the Applied Statistics Laboratory at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Bathke has published about 30 peer-reviewed articles on statistical methodology and application, and taught courses and given invited lectures on five continents.
His methodological research is mainly in the areas of nonparametric statistics and multivariate inference, and he has collaborated with subject matter scientists from a wide range of fields covering social sciences, natural sciences, agriculture, pharmacy, and medicine.
Dr. Bathke has received both university-wide teaching awards at the University of Kentucky:
the Provost's Award for outstanding teaching (2007), and the Alumni Association Great Teacher Award (2012). He has also been named an Admiral of the Commonwealth of Kentucky in recognition of his efforts to protect Kentucky's rich natural heritage.
