Welcome to the official website of the Slovak Studies Association	The Slovak Studies Association is affiliated with the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies (AAASS). The SSA was founded in 1977 and incorporated in 1983 as a scholarly not-for-profit organization in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
	This website is a project of the Slovak Studies Association (initiated in late November 1999) and is in a constant state of development. The menu of options listed in the site directory (click “ENTER” below) will be expanded upon as the site grows, and each of the areas currently listed in the menu will be enlarged and further developed. The primary purpose of the site is to provide information about the SSA and to provide online services to SSA members.
	A note concerning the use of special Slovak alphabet characters (long vowels, hachek consonants, etc.) in the SSA website.
