To apply for admission to the graduate program in German, candidates need to submit the following:
To The Graduate School, Gillis Building, U. of Kentucky,

- Completed
application forms;
- two copies
of all college transcripts;
- official
scores on the verbal, quantitative, and analytic portions of the
GRE.
- Applicants who are non-native speakers of English must submit TOEFL scores of 550 or higher.

of Graduate Studies in the German Department, 1055 Patterson Office
Tower:
- Three letters
of recommendation from persons knowing the candidate, his/her
work and potential for graduate study,
- a sample
of the applicant's written work (in German),
- a 2-3 page
statement of purpose.
Application Deadline: February 15.
An undergraduate
major in German is desirable, but not mandatory. Students lacking
sufficient preparation in German language and literature may be
admitted with the understanding that their study program must include
some advanced undergraduate work in addition to those courses normally
required for the M.A.
Applicants who are not US citizens or permanent residents must meet
the financial requirement (this may be in the form of tuition remissions
