Kaffeestunde
Every other Thursday afternoon (4:00 PM) during the semester Kaffeestunde takes place at the Max Kade German House. This is an informal gathering of German faculty and students -- even if you can only say a little, it´s a great place to practice your language skills and get to know other German students!

Stammtisch
Local Germans, German-Americans, and students (beginning with the 5th semester) meet every second Thursday (8:00 PM) at Pazzo's Pizza Pub (385 South Limestone) for a social gathering. You never know who you might run into!

The German Film Series
The German film series is dedicated to showing quality German movies interesting to students. Past showings have included such classics as Tin Drum and M as well as current hits like Run Lola Run, Bandits, Maybe Maybe Not, and Beyond Silence. Fall semester 2009 will add to this list with a new set of (subtitled) German features. Screenings are Wednesdays or Thursdays at 7:00 PM in the William T. Young Library Auditorium.

The German German Film Series
Alle Filme werden in der Originalsprache Deutsch mit deutschen Untertiteln gezeigt. Die Filme beginnen mittwochs um 19.00 Uhr im Ergeschoss des Max Kade Hauses (212 E. Maxwell).

German Club
The UK German Club is up and running. Restaurants, movies, music and more. Those interested in indulging their taste for German culture with like-minded students should look them up. For information please contact Dr. Joseph D. O'Neil  (joseph.oneil@uky.edu) or visit the German Club's Facebook page at UK.

Work in Progress Series
The Work in Progress series is designed to give local German faculty the opportunity to share some of their current research on books and articles with the rest of the department as well as other members of the German community.

Events for Fall 2009 will be announced soon.
