Dr. Mark Ensor

Education and Training: B.S. in Biology from the University of Louisville. M.S. in Microbiology and Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Kentucky. Expertise in molecular biology, protein production, and drug development.
Research Interests: Production of recombinant photoproteins and binding proteins. Charactierization and application of those proteins into analytical sensing systems and assays.

Dr. Patrizia Pasini

Education and Training: B.S. and M.S. in Biological Sciences (1995), and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2005) from the University of Bologna, Italy.
Professional Experience: Research Faculty in Analytical Chemistry (1999-2004), College of Pharmacy, University of Bologna. Currently a research scientist.
Research Interests: Design and development of biosensing systems using bioluminescent, chemiluminescent, and fluorescent reporters, with main focus on whole-cell sensing systems and their application to the analysis of real samples. Development and optimization of bioanalytical methods for the detection of analytes in biological and environmental samples. Currently working on quorum sensing and its implication in bacteria-related disorders, and biosensing systems for environmental field applications.

Dr. Emre Dikici

Education and Training: Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry from Middle East Technical University in Turkey and received Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Kentucky.
Research Interests: Labeling of Antibodies with Synthetic Fluorophores, Synthesis of Novel Fluorophores, Biofuel Cells, Bioluminescence and Assay Development.
